New River Gorge
I just recently completed another run down the New River Gorge in West Virginia. This trip was to commemorate the 26th birthday of paddling friend of mine named Kevin. He wanted to paddle something "up a notch" from some of our back home runs. This would be his first Class IV run and first in WV. He managed just fine and styled most of the lines like he'd been there a dozen times. Just a few flips, no swims, great temperatures and good company. We went up fri. and warmed up a bit on the New River in the sandstone falls area. Bunking at "Cooter's Cabins" will provide years of fond memories. Sat. we ran the gorge and headed home. This run is a favorite of mine and, I believe, Kevin's as well.

Your favorite run until you run something better, that is...
